Aim
This course is designed to support the development of in-game understanding and tactical knowledge.
About
The course will run over a five month period and is to be completed by twelve months. There are online contacts, followed by in person practical days, that will prepare you for an end of course assessment. In addition to this, there will also be theory work that is to be completed as part of the course.
Outcomes
This course is designed to combine the technical mechanics of the goalkeeper and their role in the modern game. Exploring how coaches positively affect goalkeepers through realistic practices, and decision making opportunities. Practical and theoretical presentations support the coach by building technical, tactical, physical, social and psychological knowledge.
At this level, the ability to plan, prepare and reflect upon coaching sessions specific to goalkeepers, is key.
Admission
To be admitted to a UEFA coaching diploma course, candidates must:
- Possess sufficient spoken and written skills in English
- Meet the organiser’s admission criteria
- Submit all admission documents required by the course organiser
- Have no criminal record for crimes incompatible with the coaching profession
Prerequisites
- Valid UEFA C licence or higher
- Completed at least six months experience as a GK Coach after graduating with the UEFA C licence
- FAW First Aid Award or equivalent
- FAW Safeguarding Award or equivalent
- CV - Detailing Coaching and Playing Career
